Day 7 Ottawa/ Toronto via Thousand Islands.
Well up nice and early to leave Ottawa this journey to Toronto was going to be a very long one with a greatfull stop off along the way to the world famous Thousand Islands this is where the famous salaad dressing gets its name from, On arrival at the lake most of the tour opted for the island boat trip but since this would be like a busmans holiday for Martyn and myself we opted out of it and instead went to the shop/cafe that overlooked the lake just to take in the sights, Robert our tour guide joined us and spoke to us about his past , as I mention before Robert moved to the States from South Africa 13yrs ago and was original in the African Para's? After our small talk had finished with Robert we both went off to explore the little village stopping off by a small boat marina and looking at boats and taking photo's along the way. The Thousand Islands are beautiful on some of the Islands are summer/weekend houses. On leaving Thousands Islands we again past through vast open country side towards Toronto Approaching Toronto was hetic we arrived at rush hour? I was happy when we all arrived at the Sheraton Centre this was the biggest hotel iv stayed in on this tour the hotel was huge. Once checked in we were then both ready to explore this big city,we headed off towards the CN Tower and headed off straight to the top the views are incredible looking out over the city and the great lake I went for a walk over the glass floor which reminded me of the skywalk over the Grand Canyon a year ago.You could look down upon the Skydome which is now called the Rogers Centre. On our way down we stopped to by nick -nacs at the shop. Outside there it was in your face the Skydome I wanted to go inside on a tour but it was now 18.00hrs and it was shut so had to make do with photo's. In the evening we walked around the theatre district to find this new theatre which was showing Queens 'We will rock you' well after 1hr of walking we found it on the other side of the city 4 miles away? it looked and sounded fantastic once it was all over it was a long way back to the hotel stopping on the way for refueling eg Le Big Mac. Tomorrow was going to be another early rise since we are heading to Niagara Falls.
