After a good nights sleep I went off for a leisurely breakfast along Silom Road. A traditional Thai breakfast of eggs on toast!!
I had a wander around then thought I should get to the international airport in good time to meet Claire and Archie.
I made my way to Chong Nonsi sky train and went to the ticket booth to request a ticket to the airport and gave him a 100 bhat note. He very kindly gave me 100 bhat in change and told me to buy a ticket from the booth opposite. Great customer service I thought!!
Well, I stood looking at it for ages not really understanding what I had to do until a very nice and helpful Thai man came to my rescue and explained the whole system to me. Ha! I thought. This is easier than the pink bus system in Phuket! I bought my sky train ticket and jumped on. Unfortunately it was so crowded because of the demonstrations and road closures in Bangkok that everyone had taken to the public transport system of skytrain and underground. Never mind. I've stood squashed on the London Underground before so this was similar. After two changes I then got to the airport.
I had lunch and mooched around in the shops until Claire and Archie's flight arrived. They came strolling through at 16.30 and it was so great to see them. They didn't look exhausted like I did when I arrived in Thailand for the first time so that was good news. We caught a taxi back to O'Nidra guest house and they took the room the Russians were in the night before. We also met the wonderful proprietor of the Guest House who works afternoons and evenings. Her name was Joy and she took after her name. She turned out to be invaluable with her knowledge of a Bangkok and was so friendly and helpful that it made our stay in her place very memorable.
At 8.00pm Joy hailed us down a Tuk Tuk to the Banyan Tree Hotel where we took a lift up to the top floor (Vertigo and Sky Bar a Restaurant) where we had amazing views over night time Bangkok.
We didn't eat there but got a lift back down to the ground floor where we had a meal in the all you could eat buffet. It was extremely expensive but very delicious and we stuffed our faces.
Got back (by Tuk Tuk and a very scary driver) at 11pm.

Neil Holland That's a packed blog, no holes in the walls from the Russians then? Don't know if I like the idea of a room with no windows? Shared bathroom, hope not at the same time, lol, unless.....
