I know I've been bad at keeping people updated so I have finally nabbed someone's computer to update this.
The flight was bad as it was so uncomfortable and the mandatory smelly fat man was within smelling distance. I was already pissed off as I seemed to have dodgy written on my head. At every security point i had my bag gone through and had to take my shoes off. Hotel was ok but the food was tasteless. Highlight was being picked up by a big yellow school bus and meeting everyone else going to my camp. We're from everywhere: england, scotland, wales, northern ireland, poland, france, south africa, columbia, germany, australia, new zealand and sweden. The only americans are those who voulenteer and are local.
This week has been training and my butt hasn't ached so much since the induction at work. We've had a variety of talks but nothing like what we would get back home. The moving and handling is now banned as is the choking proceedure, there is no training in dealing with challenging behaviour or restraint although the feeding was good fun!
The last few days have been strange though: a huge thunder storm, two people hospitalised and finally being put into our dorms. I couldn't ask to be with a better bunch of girls. There's our dorm director Jazz who has just been travelling in Nepal, Ciara and Natalie (returners), Julie and Louise (from Northern Ireland and live about 10 miles from each other but never met), Ruth (music activity leader) and Joy (has a brialliant sense of humour).
Bring on the kids.....
