We get up at about 10 and head to the nearest mall to change our Baht in to Ringet, a nice sweaty walk. Not before we trail around various other hostels to see if we have the best available, we didn't and so we will move later. I have another look for my bag, mine is starting to annoy, and so a new one is required. The area has two shopping centres attached together and so with some extensive looking there is nothing of suitable quality for me. A quick coffee and then I head back to check out of our hostel and move to our new one. We get some lunch after check in and then decide to rent a Moto and check out this island.

'Happy Ken' has his Motos just outside our hostel and so we go over to see what the craic is. He is a jolly man who is somewhat over powering with his explanation of how the bike works. It's funny, and I think I am able to put his mind at rest that I know how to ride one. Got a sexy green one again, Ken tells us it is one of his best Motos, of course it is. Ha. Well all I can say is that it is great that I have had the experience of Vietnam driving, it really does prepare you for anything. I think if you can ride a Moto in Vietnam, you can survive anywhere else in the world. In Penang, in the main busy part of town, there are Motos nipping in and out of cars, during traffic the bike all zoom to the front, Had I not had experience on a Moto, I know, I wouldn't be trying any of this, but it all comes as second nature, really means I can get the benefit of the Moto and not just have to sit in the lane along with the cars. Once we get out of the town we get on to the coast road which is an amazing winding road following the coastline. The views are great and the road can only be described as epic. Where is Jessie? The road goes on for hours as we snake our way through the island, stopping only briefly for some lunch before continuing. We pass one of the national parks, but decide that it is a bit to hot to be doing any jungle trekking. We see spice museums, butterfly farms, various amusement areas, but decide just to enjoy the ride. We try to find a giant footprint that is supposed to be by the coast in a boulder, but the signs are so terrible that we never even get close. We so however manage to find the Snake Temple, though this was purely by accident by me taking a wrong turn and then ending up at it. SJ has been placed in charge of directions as I am trying not to get us killed, however she is completely useless, and instead has spent all her time enjoying the views and her free ride instead of looking out for signs. Good one. Not that I mind, sure it is all part of the adventure. The Snake Temple was just like any other Chinese temple, although historically there were snakes kept in the temple. In the modern day this has translated to a python on display that you can have photos taken with for a ridiculous price. We decide against it and so head on, I am eager to be back before it starts to get dark.

Ken is happy to see the Moto returned with no issues, but we remind him that he let us have it for 24 hours so we will be using it again in the morning. We head out to a covered hawker stall area for dinner. It is a professional operation here, you get a table and then you can walk around one of the many stalls, at least 60, and you just quote your table number and then go back to your seat. Then they bring it too you and you pay, great, you're talking about £1 per dish. I order some random stuff and then some cheesy nan, can't beat that. Then there are girls round offering drinks and they bring them to the table and pour them for you and everything. Later on the Karaoke starts, it's not really karaoke, but the quality would lead you to believe otherwise. After the music get a bit to much we head back to the hostel and park ourselves in the bar beside. A few more drinks later and it is time for bed, in our lovely air conditioned hostel. Excellent.
