Hi Peeps!!Well we got thrown out our room In Noosa pretty much literally by the woman who owned it. They are nice when they are getting your money but not when they want you out!! The bus actually came for us this time as well which is an improvement on last time. We got to out hostel In Rainbow Beach at teatime and had a look at the beach which is pretty nice and then it rained all night and there was a power cut till about 7pm so not a lot to do. As I already said we met Simon who is from Clermiston and worked in the Corrie Inn, how random is that!! We know some of the same people and the bar is run by the same one as Spiers so its probable I even spoke to him at some point on the phone and he recognises me so maybe we have even met before, how funny is that all this way from home and you meet someone who you may have also randomly met at home??!! It was nice to meet someone where you could have a conversation that wasn't just "where are you going? Where have you been so far?" and also someone who wasn't just an Irish steamer as a lot of the people are over here! At night we had a few drinks with Simon and then I was playing with a wee staffy dog outside the hostel and I had it on my knee and it struggled to get away whilst Craig was taking a photo which resulted in a photo that looks like I am a traditional staffy owner, not good. You will see it soon enough if I can ever find somewhere with wifi to upload my photos! At the hostel they usually take key deposits so Craig went back and gave them one of our keys so we cold get $10 back to buy another couple of beers haha the life of a traveller lol!! We met some Canadian guys and Craig told them about haggis being small animals, how do people keep falling for this?! We also met a girl from Galashiels which resulted in us all shouting "Galae" in a borders type accent for the remainder of the night. I also kicked something out of the way on a path that made a funny noise at me so I am hoping it was nothing dodgy! The bar close a 12 so we thought we would have a drink by the pool which ended up with one of the Canadian guys, Craig and I in the pool and the boys jumping off a picnic bench into the pool, the Canadian was doing flips and stuff but Craig just went for good old bombs lol! After we were chucked out of here the Canadians asked if we wanted to go to the bus stop party which we actually thought was a bar but turned out to be just a bus stop so we politely declined stating that we were past puberty and didnt really want to drink in a bus stop lol! The next day we got up and as soon as I put my sun cream on the rain started again so it ended up a day of reading in our beds and pretty much waiting on the cheque to clear in my bank so we could actually relax and know we were not stuck there. At night we just had a few more drinks with Simon and played pool with some guys in our hostel. We were having some friendly competition banter with the Canadians and an Aussie and the Canadians comeback was "You guys just chase haggis all day" lol so that one kinda backfired on him - donut! I have bites all over my ankle and I am hoping it is from the sand flies we have been warned about and not from whatever I kicked the night before, although if it was that deadly I would probably be a goner by now so I reckon I'll live. The next day we had to check out and wait on our bus so we just managed another few games of pool with Simon and then he chummed us to our bus. We will miss our wee Edinburgh pal but we have vowed to meet in Sydney over the festive period where him and Craig can wear their kilts and Chloe and I can get on our tartan skirts woohoo!! It wasn't a look journey to Hervey Bay but we were in a smaller bus and it was really bumpy on all the wee roads. We are staying at the YHA and it is really good, we got a double room for cheaper than most dorms are here. it's a bit out of the way but it has a free pool and spa and tennis and basketball courts. We had an Indian for dinner as it was too far to walk to go to the supermarket in the (yet again) rain - what is with this place the Sunshine Coast supposedly has over 300 sunny days a year and so far I have been here for like 10 of the rainy ones, typical! We also noticed today that I have a really nice black eye from when Craig was getting out of the hostel minibus in Noosa and he elbowed my glasses back into my face so I'm looking solid the now, nobody is messing with me lol! We just had a night of reading and went to sleep. I have read 4 books in the last week or so due to the rain. There is also not very much to do here, it is just kind of the gateway to Fraser Island which I am actually glad I am not going on as we had a few groups in our last hostel and lets just say they were not who I would want to spend 3 days with if I could possibly help it! It is also where a lot of old Aussies come to retire and we do not like to play bridge so we are glad our hostel as lots of amenities. Today we got up and went for a walk around the marina and then had to come back straight away so I could change my shoes which have given me cut heels again, think I need to bin my sketchers! The marina was nice but there was not very much to see and it was roasting and really muggy. We decided it was to hot and just headed to Woolies for some supplies and then back to the hostel. We had a dip in the pool and then got out and got our sun cream on just in time for the rain again lol! We had a few games of tennis which was good but I reckon we have to work on our fitness before we tackle the Inca Trail in June lol. Tonight I had some Heinz soup which was so far the closest I have found to my Gran's obviously not as good but it smelt like it and was pretty tasty. Tonight we are just having an early night as we are getting picked up at 6.45am to go to Krombit Cattle Station where we are staying tomorrow and are gonna play at being cowboys/cowgirls, should be fun!! Also we booked our flights from Cairns back to Sydney today and started looking at flats so we should be in Sydney by about 25th, we really didn't want to fly, Craig especially but time and money wise it makes more sense and it was only the equivalent to £100 for both of us, no bad!!Hope you are all well!Lots of Love Eva and Craig xxx
