Hi Peeps! On our last day in NZ we drove back to Auckland and got away with our cracked windscreen yeah!!! Then we made our way to the airport. We have decided we love Qantas, when it is turbulent they tell you why and they give you chocolate ice cream when you have had your dinner, you have that to look forward to Chlobum!! We got to Melbourne and made our way to the hostel, our taxi driver was a very eccentric Asian guy, we passed a casino that had flame fountains coming out of it, very cool but not exactly Vegas. The hostel is a bit rowdy but we have our own room so its not so bad. It was an outside loo though so I made a point in checking under the toilet seat although all Aussies are laughing now, it had to be done lol!On our first day in Melbourne we have a leisurely day of watching DVDs in our room, doing our washing and getting the food in and we also found a huge bonus in Oz already - Cole's sell Irn Bru for $1.79!!!! Food also seems to be much cheaper here which is a bonus. The next day it was chucking it down but we decided to have a look around Melbourne, it seemed a bit in your face after the small towns in NZ and we saw junkies which we have not seen for weeks lol! At night we had to call the bank as someone has taken money out my bank which turned into a bit of a nightmare as I had to cancel my bank card so now I don't have one till Kirsty gets here, what a drama. The hostel is also full of weird old women but hey ho! The next day we picked up our camper after our taxi helped a girl jump start her car who was supposed to give us money for the meter but luckily the driver stopped the meter as the girl was suddenly very interested in her paperwork when the time came for us to leave. Anyhow we picked up our camper which is quite cool, its called Dirty Sanchez and has a Mexican guy on the side. It is much roomier than our last one but no ipod outlet or dvd player and you have to fold the bed up and down everyday if you want to sit at the table but still its pretty cool and best of all fuel consumption is about half and the price of fuel is also about half so its much cheaper. We drove out of Melbourne down to The Great Ocean Road which to be honest after some of the NZ coastal roads is not as spectacular as if it was the first place you went I imagine but still very cool, massive waves with lots of surfers out and about. The actual road is awful though and full of potholes which is quite an experience sitting high up in a van with very bouncy suspension, lets just say it leads to a lot of toilet stops! We stopped at a campsite for the night and with the weather still awful we got out our four sleeping bags for the night aheadI though Oz was meant to be warm!! The next day we drove along to The Twelve Apostles which I have wanted to see for ages, they were really cool although there is only about 8 of them left. We stopped in Port Campbell and then headed to London Bridge which is basically a rock shaped like it that the middle fell out of about 17 years ago. Then I started the drive back up to Melbourne and stopped for the night in Belmont just outside Geelong at a campsite. In our camper we have one gas hob on the canister so it kind of limits what meals you can make so we made noodles for the second night in a rowlol! On the way back from the shops we saw a huge dog in the back of a truck it was like a cross between a husky and a St Bernice, look at the photo Dad, awww!! Next day we drive back to Melbourne and found all by ourselves Pin Oak Court known to everyone as Ramsay Street in Neighbours, they were photographing or something so we were not allowed in but got some photos of the street which is enough for me, who needs a $50 tour lol!! The area was actually really nice though. Afterwards it turned out that finding the road to go on was the hard bit but after about an hour we were on track. We drove to a place just outside a small town called Loch where we found a car park with loos on the side of the road and stopped there for the night, free camping and all. In Oz they have lots of signs on the road that say 'Tired? Powernap now', we were like 'What, right now?' lol!! There were lots of parrots in the trees beside us, its really funny to see them in their natural habitat and not a cage in a pet shop! I kept hearing a motorbike in the night but Craig thought it was pigs, I don't know what kind of pigs he hears lol but anyhow we woke up alive! Its s cold at night, I have been wearing Craig's jumpers to sleep in and he has been wearing them through the day, gross we know lol! Did you guys know that you can wear the same outfit excluding underwear obviously for about 4 days before you actually smell lol!!Today we drove further along the coast and stopped for lunch in Sale and tried to get rid of all th ants from the ant hill at our previous campsite! You should see the front of out camper, we have made a god dent in killing all insects lol! Sale was an odd kind of town, it seemed kind of white trashy but it did for a lunch stop! We got back on the road and are now at a place called Holland's Landing. The first campsite was a bit odd with a woman not wanting payment yet as she was cutting her dog's hair and the electric points did not work which we needed by now as the laptop is dead as is my phone and we are in the middle of nowhere. There were no real sites and it was all kind of bush like and many insects so we decided to go back down the road to another one. On our drive today Craig accidentally ran over a huge lizard and we saw loads of hog type looking animals dead on the road, pretty gross! The campsite down the road is much better and we have power so I can type this and get my phone back on just as well as I think my Dad thinks I'm in Oz with not £100 to my name lol - don't worry Dad its sorted now, I will call and tell you the saga! Whilst making tea I managed to spill pasta and burn my foot, how I do not know, Craig says if anyone could do it, it would be me! Tomorrow we are going to start heading for Canberra and then after that up to Sydney on the 16th. I'm glad to say the weather has gotten much better 23 degrees and nice and sunny and it will only get hotter the further north we get, we are so glad, we have missed the sun, so don't worry Madam K there will be plenty of sun for us to bathe in lol!! Hope everyone is well at home and congrats to Neil and Graeme on their babies, they look adorable!!Lots of LoveEva and Craig xxx
P.S DadI hope you have advised J what 'lol' means as I realise I say it a lot and she probably has not asked you lol!!
