Hey, how ya going?On Tuesday we got up after next to no sleep as in the middle of the night the balcony door blew open somehow and Craig and I had to get up and shut it and then at 4am we had to get up to make sure we were ready for our first Oz Experience bus up the coast. We got on the bus as 6.30 am and made our way up the coast stopping in a few wee places, to see some kangaroos, a big banana in Coffs Harbour ( I'm not sure what the deal with that is but they have a thing about big things) and at one point Craig was sleeping on the back seat and he fell off when the bus brakes suddenly, hilarious lol! We got to our first stop: Spot X, Mojo Surf camp at teatime. It was really cool we had a wee room with 4 bunks and then had a big Barbie which was in with our ticket and was amazing, it was so good to have some good food, steak etc mmm!! After tea we had a camp fire and everyone got out their boxes of goon and Craig started rapidly tanking his way through a box of red while we had some rose. Some guy got out his guitar and sang umbrella and that new song "I'm yours" by someone Mraz, its probably been out about 4 years at home and just out here but never mind, it was really cool, finally felt like we were really having an aussie experience. We all went to bed relatively early as we were up at 6am again for our surf lesson the next morning. So we all went back to the room and I put Craig to bed, even though he threatened to jump bunks to hug Andy lol, steamer!! Also I love this camp as it has loads of dogs, today has been a good dog day, today I saw an Alsatian in the back of a truck, there was a retriever and a lab at the camp and q border collie at dinner and then someone had a puppy staffy at the camp fire, they were all so cute!!The next day we were up early and had breakfast and a wee lesson on waves which we all had sore heads for and then we got kitted out in our wetsuits which I of course managed to put on back to front and then got our boards and headed down the beach. We practised standing up and paddling on the sand and then we were into the surf. We all did quite well, I think we even all managed to stand up a few times. Kirsty and Craig were not so keen though and then Craig had to get out as his goon came back on him and he managed to spew in the sea. It was really quite hard to get from lying down to standing but I go the hang a bit by the en. I got some cool photos too. Next we were all back on the bus to head to Byron Bay which was about the worst journey of my life as after about half an hour Craig said he felt sick and we had to get a bag which he then threw up into and I felt bad for him but oh my god I hate people being sick, it scares me!! We even had to stop the bus so he could get off for air, funny now not so funny at the time. He was ok after the lunch stop though thank god! After stopping to look at the giant prawn we got to Byron Bay where we had a wee shard apartment/hostel thing which was ok. We all went out for something to eat and then went to the cinema to see Burn After Reading which was quite good. We also saw our first pretty big spider tonight, not good!The next day we got up and went to the beach with some boogie boards but the waves were not very good so we just had a day of reading on the beach as there were a few jellyfish to which was quite off putting. We all ended up totally burnt even though I had a gallon of sun cream on and my back and all down the backs of my legs, bum etc are red raw. At night we just had some noodles and sat about the hostel. We also saw a giant lizard which again was scary and Kirsty and I saw a wee snake, not good, I am not liking the growing wildlife abundance! I used one of the computers in the hostel to try and upload a blog using my memory stick and when I put it back on the laptop it spread a virus right through it so its not in the best working order right now, I can't plug anything into it as it corrupts everything. I'm hoping it wont be too costly to get it fixed. Today we just checked out and spent the day by the pool where there were more huge lizards until our bus at 4pm to Surfers Paradise. The bus actually came for us at 5pm and we drove up which was only about 90 minutes and the hostel shuttle picked us up and we have a nice ensuite room with bunk beds and a double. We went shopping for some food and I made spaghetti bolognaise for tea and now we are just chilling in our room as we are all shattered!!Hope everyone is good at home, must be a right pain having the winter nearly upon you, not that I would know lol!!Lots of Love Eva and Craig xxx
