This is known as "the city of glass" for the look of its many windows. We took a tour bus around the city - and saw the Tower of Hercules (the oldest working lighthouse in the world), a lot of terrific coastline and famous Galician beaches, the new Tower, the Galician octopus statue, one of many military cannons that protected A Coruna in WW2. The tour skirted the coastline around the city. Since we will be back here again on the second leg of the cruise, we hope to get a taxi/guide to show us his favorite parts of the city. One thing we are quite grateful for is that the weather is unseasonably warm - with no rain. Quite unusual.. I hope it holds through the new year!!! Back on the ship we had late lunch, attended a cooking demonstration on the flavors of Spain (shrimp with chorizo sauce and pasta) (doubly not kosher!) and the we dressed for another formal dinner. After dinner, we attended a short art unveiling- some works that hadn't previously been shown on the ship. While the merriment continued on into the night, Joey and I retired to our cabin with Joey watching a movie on TV and me continuing with the Women's Murder Club book series.
