Today we had no tour scheduled so we stood in line for a shuttle bus to the cIty. I didn't know what to expect - I did no research- so we walked past the sub-aquatic museum, saw lots of military (was it to protect the Jazz festival that ended yesterday?) and did a bit of shopping (me). I found a cool pair of glass frames! As we were strolling we noticed a wall of "old city " down a street and while we were taking pictures a man named Juancito started talking with us. He was from Cartagena and was telling us about the walk that was from Roman times, that the moors used to live on the other side of the hill - and that 60 years ago the hill was where the prostitutes hung out! As he was speaking a very lively Spanish, I caught a lot, but Joey carried most of the conversation. They were talking about his military service and he seemed to have done many jobs militarily... We walked on to the carrousel, took a picture, stopped at a market for Joey to get some Diet Pepsi (ship only has Coke products) and we headed back to the bus to the ship. Lunch. Nap. Dinner.
