... after last nights meal, we slept late today. Got out of bed at noon, found a local restaurant called Daisy Dukes that served breakfast all day, and had a wonderful country breakfast. We then went to a local kitchen store, and found that we could sign up for a demonstration of Louisiana cooking, so we signed up for tomorrow. Then today we walked to a local art gallery that had Peter Max as their highlighted artist. We saw some other artists there that we really enjoyed and of course got information to consider for later. We went back to the hotel to straighten up and start packing for tomorrow 's check out since we have tickets for Preservation Hall . On the way to the Hall we stopped at Oceana Grill for Joey's first po boy (chicken) and my smothered crab cakes.. tasty, but more cake than crab. When we started to head out there was a huge rainstorm (so much for 50 percent chance - not like in LA where that means not happening) so we sat for 20 minutes waiting out the storm - and then said what the hell .. we gotta go.. Once we got to Preservation Hall we found there is no bar and no bathroom - but they said O'BRIENS had both - walk that way ... but hearing the house band at preservation Hall was such a wonderful experience! I think it was the highlight of our trip to New Orleans, at least so far! Even if we did have to stand in the drizzle to wait to get inside. So afterwards we walked back to the hotel (it stopped raining) and had a drink at the Carousel ar – inside our hotel – and the only bar in New Orleans that turns. It does a full rotation in 15 minutes. Back up to our rooftop perch, started packing, and robbed.
