It's a lovely day today in Paris. Clear, it started out a bit chilly, and warmed up to 63 degrees F. We had breakfast early (for us) and we were out walking - heading to the Eiffel Tower, where we thought we would see more soldiers than tourists, but that was not the case. , People were walking around, enjoying the sights. The carousels were turning, pictures were being taken, and the sun shone brightly. We passed the Seine, walked along to Avenue George V past the Chinese embasssy and the famous George V Hotel, and then along the Champs Elysees.
We passed the Lido de Paris and there was a little passageway I wanted to take, to see if I could find the hotel I stayed in in 1984... I found the street (Avenue de Berri) but the Hotel de Berri was not to be found. We passed by where I thought it was and ended up at the Rue de Fauberg St Honore - and luckily, because it is Sunday, every shop was closed! Happy Joey!! We then caught a taxi back to the apartment to rest, and see if there was any update on - anything. There was not .. however, we had a chance to rest, and catch up on emails and a phone.
I could've sworn that I typed up what we did this evening, but I can't find it. Vanessa joined us for dinner – I host from south-central LA. We took her back to Nonna Anna, our new favorite restaurant in Paris. She said it was the best meal that she has had in Paris. While we were in the Tratoria, we called super host Vincenzo who is taking care of our airbnb, because he's from the same area as the host of our restaurant and they were able to talk. Vincenzo was able to translate when I could not pull up a particular word or phrase or translation with my meager supply of Italian and French. Once again, the pasta was superb, and the owner shows a lovely wine that he said was better than amerone, but I didn't think so. It was good, but not as good as amerone. If I wasn't supposed to keep away from wheat, I would definitely encourage us to go back again tomorrow night. But we can't do that every night, even if we would like that.

Judith I am so glad that you are able to still have a good time. Everything is so grim....but life goes on! XoJ
Bob Latter All we hear about here is how shut down Paris is (except for the Tricolor illumination of the Eiffel Tower last night. Beautiful! So glad that you are having a good time anyway.

Lotte Clever thanks for the blog from yesterday and all the previous ones. Were you able to go to Louvre after all?
