Hi
Day 3 of our Barcelona travels, didn't start great as we were woken up by many loud french girls at 5 am. Funsies! However today we did get alot of cultural activities done. We also smell of travelling now. and after slapping on the factor 30 today went out side to find it was very cloudy. and actually cardigan weather in some parts of the day. it got hotter towards the end.
Searched for a long time for the Museu de L'Erotica (the ONLY erotic museum in the whole of Spain!!!) and that was er. strange. but we got a 1 euro discount with our global passes! so what the heck. next we visited the gofik quarter, which was very pretty and gothic. and we had lunch in a little bakery shop which was average but it was an attractive little bakery shop so we felt we had to. and did some browsing in all the little nic-nacky shops, and there was one shop kind of like Presence at home, but much bigger and louder and tackier.
Then we found a street jazz band that anna tried to make me dance to in a photo, then she danced to it in a photo and we did more band dancing. we´re getting good at band dancing but not sure the locals understand. The band love it though, Anna said. Then we walked back through to Las Ramblas and tried to do some haggling for bumbags on a market stall but he was having none of it the cheeky...man. There were lots of market stalls down at the harbour as well with old keys, but Anna didn´t want any cause they were all rusty. They were also charging you to buy old money, which seemed a bit pointless. But there were loads of jewellery and EP´s and we bought playing cards for two euros. Then it turned out they werent real playing cards - we´d been HAD!
The harbour semlt of sea and was really pretty (i thought) and we got a chocolit crepe each and felt a bit sick. anna threw the rest of hers to the fish. they went crazy for that crepe!! they did. then we had to buy water to wash it down and walked further up. the harbour is palm tree lined and the only thing that ruins it is the bloody big cruise ships. oh well. there was also a cable car but we couldnt figure out how to get there. then we went back to the hostel and anna fell asleep (surprise surprise) and now we are cooking gnocci. mmmm!
we also booked another hostel in montpellier this morning, so from the 27th til the 29th thats where we will be! tomorrow we are checking out and moving on to Beziers. Although barcelona has been amazingly cultural i feel it is time to move on and we are quite looking forward to it.
k.o, til next time, love amy and anna xxxxxx
