Hi all, Ive just got back from the Yasawa Islands, Fiji. My flight was supposedly bright and early this morning, so turned up at the airport at 5.30 to find it had been delayed by 7hours! Panic not though because they decided to put everyone up in a hotel until the flight came in. Free accommodation, free food and drink and transport! Im not sure if the UK would have done that. It saves waiting in the airport for 7hours. Anyway, am at the hotel now after a lovely free breakfast.
I returned from the islands yesterday, I was very sad to leave as I met some awesome people. I think I have spent long enough here now, theres not that much to do here unless you have lots of money except sitting on the beach and playing the occasional game of volleyball/football late afternoon.
The boat to my island took 4 and a half hours. When we approached the island we were met by a smaller boat which took us the remainder of the way. We were greeted with the staff singing and clapping. We were taken for lunch and got to meet the 7 others i came with. 3 english, 3 aussies and 1 scot. Afterwards we had the whole afternoon to chill. It was certainly warm here, lots of sunscreen needed.
The food was amasing, all local produce, lots of fish and of course we all ate together like a big family. I think it was the best way ot meet people. By the end of my 3 nights I had true friendship with the 3 Brits and scot. I went to the local village on the sunday and went to their church. It was baking, we were all sweating pretty well! Didn;t understadn a word but the singing was good. Afterwards i got to go back to a families house for lunch. Fish with coconut milk...mmmmmmmm. Was one of the best meals I had on the trip I think.
My final day was very hectic. I went to some caves in the morning, swam underneath some of them into pitch black, was soooo much fun and then we all were jumpin off the rocks...those that could climb them that is. we all returned to the boat bruised and battered from many failed attempts. Went back to a lunch of fried rice, before having to hurriedly leave for the boat back to the main island. After some trouble with my bank cards, I had no money left for accommodation or food! at least I managed to get the boat back...they wanted to charge me $80 extra (20 punds) because apparently i had the wrong ticket. after playing the innocent they actually let me off. arrived at a hostel and got ready for my flight the next morning. whcih is where I am now!
Theres so much more to tell, wish I had more time on this interent! Less that 5mins now!
Will update again soon, when Im in New Zealand
Missing everyone dearly xxxxxxxxx
