Haven't updated this for donkeys years. A good sign, as i've been busy having too much fun. Friday the 13th today so I'm laying low with a slight hangover after one too many margaritas last night at the Beach Hotel. Well, it was my birthday.

Since we last spoke Tamsin and I have taken the step of adopting a little boy from the war torn region of southwest London. His name is Ben and since his arrival he has made excellent progress. His facial hair is extremely well developed, as are his shoulder muscles so we are pinning all of our hopes on his continuing to flourish, particularly as his skills as a chef and relationship counsellor are second to none.

We have also been hand rearing a troop of feral teenagers from the Sydney suburbs who have taken up residence at Wendy's house next door. They have been raised by possums and we frequently hear them scrabbling around on the balcony at night. Their grooming skills need refining somewhat but they are showing potential.

Mum and Dad have been down under for a visit so I was able to get in touch with my inner princess for a while and eat a few proper meals. Luxury.

Have been all over the shop visiting Noosa, Fraser Island and an amazing cattle station surrounded by mountains at Hidden Vale in Queensland. Roos, dingoes, ospreys, lace monitors and kookaburras. Beaut mate. Best thing without a doubt has been driving like demon around Fraser Island (no roads, just insane sand tracks, forest and 75 mile-long beaches). Well, the Devil Drives Prado baby, and so do I. Check me out on the the car ad-style photos. I should have been a model... Also been horse-riding, learning archery (God, think this may be my true vocation and am thinking of moving to Sherwood Forest and buying some green tights) and working as a volunteer at a riding school for disabled children in Ballina which I adore. The kids are amazing and I haven't been this week cos its school holidays and I am missing them soooo much.

Had a job interview yesterday. Yes. On my birthday for heavens sake. Fingers crossed. Missing everyone and thank you for all the cards and pressies!! Love Ems xx
