I need to catch up!!I am sorry!!Here we go:
Second day in Cape Tribulation:
I woke up at 7.30 really excited because that morning i went Horseriding for 3 hours...and it was so much fun!I really got into having just finished reading The Horse Whisperer! My horse was called Wombat and he was brown and apparently previously a wild horse! He had little legs so when he cantered he sort of cat leaped...i kicked him on and boy did he go fast!We rode through the rainforest, the 'advanced group (two of us) cantered/galloped along the beach and then we walked along a forested creek to a picnic area and had dips and crisps. After we got back on the horses and cantered a few more times with tree covered mountains as our backdrop! So idyllic! We even had a frisky Pilgrim-like ex-race horse on the ride that the boss was riding...he had never seen sand so when we cantered along the beach i think he thought it was a race because he went CHARGING!...i was behind him when we cantered in the forest...an interesting experience! Unfortunately it rained a bit but luckily we were undercover most the time!
In the afternoon I walked along the beach listening to my music and writing things in the sand! Every now and then tiny crabs would scutter in an out of holes in the sand.
The next day we went Jungle surfing which was quite funny although the process was pretty slow as we had to keep connecting and disconnecting harnesses and the zip wires were controlled manually though we did get some spectacular views of the rainforest and coastline! On one 'surf' we swung upside down with our arms and heads dangling...horrible...can't begin to imagine what bungee jumping is going to be like!
I will be bungee jumpingh some time in the next week..just in case anyone wanted to know!
On our last day in Cape tribulation I went sea KAyaking with Tans for 3 hours!!CRAZY!I found muscles i never knew i had!I was fine when we were gently paddling in the bay but when it came to crossing in front of the headland where the waves and wind really did pick up i had absolutely no chance...i just really did not have the physique....i couldn't do it but i didn't give up!That doesn't mean i moved at all or that i wasn't absolutely elated when he said we' turn back and eat cookies and drink fruit juice!the whoole time i was on the lolok out for sea turtles and sting rays but unfortunately i didn't see any. When we arrived back on the beach we went a did some coconut husking which was really funny!I didn't really do much chopping but really helped out on the eating front! Our guide was really funny and very kind and informative, he told us stories about the island etc....
Must dash..internet running out...will be back ...i promise! x x x x x
