Will catch up with Cairns when i can but for now i shall report on New Zealand!!!!!!!
I arrived in New Zealand last night and got the shuttle bus to from the airport to ur hostel in the centre of Christchurch. We arrived late in the evening so when we went to buy supper the only places that were open were KFC, McDonalds and Burger King and they were all right next door to eachother. I went for the healthy (!!) option of a twister, SALAD KFC wrap...mmmm....!We then wen back to the hostel and fell alsepp at 2.00am. We woke up four hours later. Hannah never went to sleep! We got on the Kiwi experience bus and started travelling up to Kaikoura. It rained. It was cold. But the the landscape is breathtaking...rolling, forested and sheep-scattered hills filled our window panes the whole way...i can just imagine Orlando Bloom charging down on his white horse...back to reality! We stopped off just outside Kaikoura on the coast where there were seals on the rocks...though they are very territorial when out of the water so we didn't get too close!I took lots of photos though! They have such beautiful glassy eyes. We arrived in Kaikoura, a very small little town on the coast and booked a 3 hour dolphin swimming session the following morning. The area has the highest population of dolphins in the world do to their being a trench just of the coastline where kelp and plankton thrive. The area is also famous for its whale population fopr the same reason. Tonight we are going to the cinema which shows one film a week...ps, i love you!Apparently i am going to cry! This afternoon i think we are going to wander around the vast number of shops and sit in a cafe drinking hot chocolate, playing cards and reading while heavily wrapped up in 3 jumpers and wooly socks!Back to reality!
I am very excited about swimming with dolphins although we did just find out that we have to get up at 5am!
