We woke up at six thirty and had breakfast before catching a bus to Denaru harbour where we were due to board the awesome adventures sun seeker. It was such a sunny day and when we boarded the boat we went and sat on the upper deck in the sun and watched all these beautiful tiny, isolated ilands float past us! WHen we arrived at Waya island we got into a little spped boat and travelled over to the island! It was so beautiful, the sea was so clear and bright turquoise and the beach near our resort shone so brightly in the sun!HEAVEN! When we arrived on the island we were greeted by two men playing the guitar and singing then crying out BULA!What a welcome! We were shown to our room and then had a really yummy lunch which consisted of pink bread, pink rice adn mashed potato with carrots and peas and a stack of pineapple!!!YUM!!!We spent the morning sunbathing and swimming and running along the spit which connected the larger Waya island with the smaller Ways laili!I read my book in a hammock on the beach-I was in PARADISE!!!AFter a while Tans, Fred and i went and played catch im the water when suddenly a rowing boat filled with Fijian children coming back to the island from school appreared and all the children jumped in the water. I 'accidently' through the ball over to one of the little boys and within minutes all the children were playing ball with us in the water! Soon each of us had about seven children crowding around us asking us questioms like...'what is your mother and fathers name?' and 'Is Fred your husband..brother...friend?' They also kept asking me if i was married! Soon i was supporting underwater handstands and wirling little children around in the water! Fredended up being rugby tackled and chased along the beach by 15 or so boys! ans and i went and attempted to laze in a hammock but everytime one of got comfy the other was on the floor so we lied for a while pretending we were comfy then admitted that we weren't andwent our separate ways...just not hammock compatible! I went inside and found a little boy with HAnnah and Bins, he was listening to music in a trance-so sweet! I talked to a fijian lady playing a guitar and then played volleyball...turns out i am rubbish at volleyball, my wrists are just too weak was my excuse! We met a fijian guy called Nessy and he talke to us about the activities we could do. We signed up to go shark feeding which we later entailed swimming with the sharks...they needed bait, bracelet weaving and on a guided tour of their village! In the evening the fijian guys put on a dance show...bare skin, cocnut oil and hula skirts...not complaining! They did fire dancing, fan dancing and knife dancing! It was really good and by the end of it i was in fits of hysterics because some of their moves were absolutely hilarious! Lots of hip movemnet! They taught us the Bula dance which is a fijian version of the Macarena!!Very very fast and once agin lots of hip movement!Bins and i stayed and danced at the end with some of the Fiji guys after everyone did the snake dance....another classic! watch out for te coconuts!!!Such an incredible day!
