We left for Fiji today....
Started the day with another panic attack when we realise that we have been sitting at the airbus terminal for half an hour waiting for the bus tat is meant to arrive every ten minutes when a man walks up to us and points out the sign that says 'closed till July' and points down the hill to the Airbus turning of the main road. We fling our bags on and tumble so fast down the hill, my bag gets caught on the corner of a skip and i go flying meanwhile Tans is running down carrying her surfboard gradually knocking people off the side walk! We miss the bus! ENd up walking up an even steeper hill to get a taxi which turns out to be cheaper and faster than the bus! The only problem is that we have 4 people, 4 huge rucksacks and a surfboard the length of the taxi to fit in the taxi! We clamber in and wedge the surfboard in between the driver/on the driver-very amusing and head for the airport! Obviously we arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare! On the plane Bins spills orange juice all over her beloved raggy and herself. Later on i come back from te loo to find Bins in the worse mood ever cursing the baby behind her which has just puked chocolate goo all over her!Amusing but also very unamusing!Later 20 minutes before landing i get the worst ear ache ever-i felt like someone was stabbing me in my ears...i tried equalising but it would not work...there were tears!!!SO PAINFUL!!!
We landed in Fiji and collected our luggage ten headed for the travel centre to book our trip and colect our tickets. The lady in their was so friendly and kept calling us 'baby' and 'darling' ahe reminded me of the mother from My Big Fat Greek Wedding!!We stocked up on 24 bottles of water and got the shuttle bus to our hotel, THE NADI BAY HOTEL which i highly recommend! It has two swimming pools, a boutique, a spa and tretment centre and two restaurants with a live band who specialise in singing 'beautiful' by JAmes Blunt! We had a r eally delicious meal and some cocktails...i realise that Margueritas are definately my favourite cocktail! The waitresses were all very exotically dressed in flowery dresses and came round giving us flowera to put in our hair..if you are single you wear the flower on the left hand side and if you are taken on the right hand side. We were all so happy and really relaxed! Fred arrived that evening, scared us by looking in through the window.
