Hi Guys,
Just drop you a line to let you know we arrived safe in Krabi and it has been scorching since we had torrential rain on our first night. We stayed in Krabi Town for 2 nights which was enough as there is nothing to do at all except eat and drink and we have done enough of that already. So we decided to go on an excursion on the last minute before we died of boredom which was the James Bond Tour. It was an afternoon tour so we got picked up at our guesthouse at 11 am (after deciding at 10.45) we drove for an hour and 1/2 to the Monkey Temple which was amazing as it was a temple inside caves and filled with wild monkeys. We bought bunches of bananas in there and had a buzz teasing them with them and got some great pictures. After that we drove to the Pier where we boarded a tailboat to the James Bond Island where The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed a truly wonderful place where Limestone Cliffs just creep up from out of the sea. We then seen some caves and where load of people were Kayaking and then onto Kao Ping Kan where we seen a limestone formation in the shape of a a camel and seen 3000 year old drawings in the rock left by Vikings. The highlight of this trip for me was the visit to Koh Panyee which is a floating Muslim village where beer is banned and there are lots of overweight kids. We strolled around for an hour before we had to meet our tour guide and seen the way the people lived and even went into the school and talked to the kids and Jonjo even had a game of footie with them (the best football pitch and backdrop you have ever seen in your life) although his feet were burning off the hot concrete. They were so friendly and welcoming and spoke very good English which was impressive as they were only 9 and 10 years old. After this we boarded our longtail back to the Pier and drove back to the guesthouse and crashed as it had been a long day.
We decided to move from Krabi Town to Ao Nang which is about 20 mins from Krabi town itself. We are enjoying it here in Ao Nang and will stay for another few days before we move to Railay and Phi Phi.
Will upload more pics tomorrow as it is so time consuming and can take up to 2 hours so we are just going back to our guesthouse to watch the God channel ha ha there is no other channels available as the owners are Muslim and all the others are Russian or Pakistani.
Well keep you updated and keep checking for more pics.
Lots a love
Emma n Jonjo xx
