We apologise for the lack of blogs but we have been havin too much fun in Adelaide and forgotton about sleepy old Ballarat!!! Hope you have seen all of Laura's hair photos, it has nothing to do with Amy but has alot to do with Emma. Who is currently gettin grumpy at the amount of times laura mentioned her horrible hair.
Soo once upon a time in a place called Ballarat, Victoria. 3 english girls came to visit!! anyway i cant write the blog like this so...........
We got the train to Ballarat from melbourne, to stay with a friend who we met on the NZ tour for a few days. he picked us up and gave us a tour ....there was not much to see bar from some empty lakes and some deasd lookin botanical gardens but we smiled and looked interested. he drove round for about half an hour in the opposite dicrection of his house. when we arrived we made it known that we were in the house by putting are stuff everywhere. the 1st night we did not do much just watched tele (cricket) and had an early night. we woke up bright and early (11am) with Laura on the floor as the airbed had gone down in the night. non of us had, had a good night sleep as it was freezin. Laura Accidently punched Amy in the face as she was trying to put a jumper on in the middle of the night... she never forgot this!!!
That day we did..........................................................Nothing!!! bar from goin to the supermarket and buying food and drink and then we vegged out and watched about 5 films untill Adam got back from work. then we carried on doin nothing. After a night infront of the tv we went to bed with alot of extra coves and sleep well and mannaged to sleep in again till 10. we desided to do something with the day so we headed to the wildlife park. Kitted out in lots of layers including jumpers, waterproof coats and long jeans we headed out...only to find that it was 28 degrees. we walked for about 45mins till we reached the wildlife park. after we had paid, the woman asked if we wanted food to feed the kanagroos, well, we all said yes because we wasn't expecting that. as soon as we walked through the doors they were kangaroos everywhere so we got some food in our hands and started to feed them. it was proper mint. some people come on month holidays to austrailia and never see a kangaroo and we got to feed them, how great. after feeding the roos, we headed for a walk around and got to see koloas, eagles, red kangaroos, giant totioses, snakes, wobats, emus, crocs and lots of others. but our favourite animal that we saw was the tasmanian devil (the little black marsupal in our photos) this is only because Laura and Amy had done a project them we'll we was at uni. we got the best photo of it ever, when its opening its mouth and you can see its teeth.
after the wildlife park we caught the bus back to adams place and sat and watched more films until he came back home. seen as though it was our last night in ballarat, adam wanted to make it fun, so we then played on the wii for a couple of hours. we played bowling first. laura got competitive with amy like usual so we was having competitions most of the night while playing on it. after a bottle of malibu later and past midnight we decided to go to bed. but adam wanted to say his goodbyes then. so he made us get up and hug him, much to lauras delight, and then we went to bed.
the next day we got up about 11am again. we packed up our things and as we had abit of spare time before our train came, Amy and Laura decided to play frisbee for abit. it lasted 10minutes before Laura threw it over the next door neighbours garden and we was too scared to go get it back. so we went and headed for the train station. we arrived back in melbourne for 2 more nights and we was staying in a hostel called cooee, which had been the best hostel we had stayed in the whole of the journey. that night we headed to meet up with Amy's friends from back home as they had got us tickets to watch an aussie rules football game. this was a charity match to raise money for the bush fires that had happened in Victoria and it was so weird and erie when we did the minute silence. the match then kicked off and we hadnt got a clue what the hell was happening in this game. it was a mixture between UK football, rugby, volleyball and basketball. it was so weird to watch and loads of people was trying to explain it to us but we still couldn't get it round our heads. Laura and Emma must have got bored because they half way through they was trying to set me up with Adam (the guy who'd just been staying with), so obviously i wasn't happy. the match ended with the team Laura wanted to win, winning, and i was supporting the opposite team so i wasnt happy. after the match we wondered around town to find a bar, but they wasnt any so we just headed back to our hostel and went to bed.
the next day was valentines day. Laura and Emma was jealous because i had more valentines then them. so we headed for the beach for the afternoon and relaxed. the night time we spent in the hostel as it was a charity night to raise money for the buh fires so we had a few drinks then headed to bed as we had to be up at 4am to catch a plane to Adelaide.
