Thankfully this is our last long bus journey of the whole trip, though after today we lose our guide Bank and we're on our own! The day begins with packing (again) and a quick breakfast before a 2 hour trip to the ferry. We pass numerous small Vietnamese villages with waving children, unruly traffic and colourful markets and drive over many small bridges over parts of the Mekong delta (often not looking likely to support the bus's weight). Then we all pile out at the ferry port for the craziest trip ever. We fight our way through the crowded streets and queue up with the scores of Vietnamese on mopeds to cram onto the ferry. One member of our group gets knocked intoo by a moped and the rest of us carefully watch our toes to prevent them being run over. Getting off the ferry 15 minutes later is equally chaotic.
2 hours further on the bus we stop for lunch, simple fried rice with vegetables at an open air cafe - these seem to be the equivilant of our motorway services. Then after what seems like forever, we finally arrive in Ho Chi Minh City around 3pm. We dump our bags and grab a map before heading out onto the street. As the 'snatch-and-grab' capital of Vietnam, we grip our bags and pockets tightly, particularly in the market (which Luke and I spend far too much time and money in). I do however, buy a nice North Face rucksack for £9 which I think is a genuine factory second, though Luke's convinced it's a fake.
A last dinner with our group tonight of the standard noodles or rice, vegetables and beef with accompanying spring rolls along with more Saigon beers is all we can cope with for we are once again completely exhausted with the days events.

TrainMan Of course it's a fake, but who cares at that price!
