Ok first things first....some things that I failed to remember in my last entries and which I have been beaten for not mentioning.... When we were doing the seal swim in Kaikoura we swam through hundreds of Jellyfish (the man assured us they were harmless but we still kept trying to flap them away!) and Emma dearest conquered the deep and found herself a wee octopus. RANK! But both Em and I were very brave and held it - the bloke wouldnt let me not but I held it...

Right...Franz Josef is the site of *fan fare* The Franz Josef Glacier! So first point of call was booking our hike onto the glacier. Thats the most interesting thing we did so I'll get right on telling you about it!! We went along and got all kitted out in attractive fisherman style trousers, giant boots, waterproof jackets and the like...looking the part ready for an expedition onto a glacier and/or Antartica! Back in Christchurch for a fews days to recover from rafting (and our rafting night out!) before heading off to the north island. We went for a night out with Dan and Gerard (the Canadian lads from our rafting thang) and had a cracking night. Mid pint who should we come across but Kev from Mulgas tour!! Probably means nothing to you but Em and I were amazed (and said so for 2 days after!) very strange seeing Kev again and especially seeing him clean and in Christ...

Rafting day rafting day!! Right...first things first...our dorm room at the rafting lodge has triple decker bunk beds!! Well I say bunk beds but they are more like beds stapled to the wall (I was a little nervous being on the bottom bunk that I would get squished!) Anywho, once over the excitment of the bunk beds we spent the evening *suspensful music*...playing cards!! Big shock huh! Although this time we did use our card playingness for good and made friends ...

Very early start this morning saw us all falling asleep on the way to Milford on the bus...Our sleep was disturbed however when the emergency exit on the roof just above my head blew off!! A little bit of panic later and the lurrrrrvely bus driver stopped the bus, jumped up on the seats and actioned manned it over my head and out onto the roof of the bus! Now, this is where Kiwi busmen expertise really come into it....he used a very old and typical man strategy...
