so im in brisbane now, but done alot inbeyween sydney and here!
after we left on the bus we headed to an overnight surf camp stop just south of byron bay! arrived quite late as it it was such a long journey so had dinner together, quite a big group on the bus about 22, and had a few drinks! went down to the beach that night for abit of a party but wasnt enough to be a big so was more just a chanmce to meet and chat to people in our group!
next morning up very early to ahve breakfast before our surf lesson! which was ace! had to wear a very flattering (not) wet suit. had a huge learner surf board wich was very awkward to carry down to teh ebach. had a leson on what to do on the beach and then headed into the water. i wasn ttoo bad at it, it was very hard though, stood up quite a few times whcih i was very impressed with! got alot fow ater in my mouth, ears nose from falling off which wasnt grreat! and i did fall off alot!
after that wqe got back on hte bus to byron bay whcih only took a couple of hours! arrived and walked to our hostel called the arts factory. it was very cool! a proper hippys place. the accomodation was awesome there was a choice well what was available from tippies(cant spell it) a bus, tents, normal rooms or what we stayed in. was quite strange, like ahut with a canvas roof, had a couple of bunk beds in it. was fun. in byron bay we mostly just beached it. wasnt loads to do. we took a trip to nimbin one day which is like the drug capital of australia, and no mum i didnt buy anything i swear! really cant afford to waste my money on that. but worth seein, was a crazy town. like stepping back in time. didnt stay particularly long just took lotys of photos of the funny signs! went up to the light house another day whcih was the most easterly point in australia! really spectacular views too!
apart from that we did just lie on the beach! and i suppose just wander around abit. met a few european guys at teh hsotel too and went out with them a couple of times, nice guys! have noticed all the guys weve met non of whom have really been english, can cook, no wonder both my sisters have gone for non-english men!
did love byron bay though really nice place, lots to do if youve got time and money but also just a nice palce i felt very rel;axed there and more at home! was easier to make friends as everyone was very friendly etc!
after byron bay we had a few days in surfers paradise. when we arrived wasnt sure id like it too much as it was lots of high rise buildings and not what youd think as a surfers paradise. but after a few adys i did like it. the first accomodation we stayed in was awful so found some new that evening which was so much better and had a lot of fun there, met more people too!
ill update on that next time im on, more photos so check them out!
