After the party I slept until noon, and didn't get dressed all day. It was a public holiday to mark the immaculate conception (apparently Mery's gestation period was only two weeks, so there's more than miracle going on!), so the boys were off school and Amedeo didn't have work. Instead, we all just mooched around the house being blobby.
Today, Meredith and I set out bright and early for Stupenigi, a big pretty building thing (maybe a church again?) which is about a 25 minute drive from the house. It was nice and sunny at home, but as we drove this HUGE amount of fog rolled in and literally we couldn't see anything that was more that 5m away. So Meredith dropped me at Stupenigi and left, and I went groping through the fog trying to find the building and then when I finally did there were bloody diggers everywhere and it was closed for restoration! Needless to say, Meredith came back and we went Christmas shopping for the boys instead. While we were out it weirdly got quite warm (when I got home the thermometer said it was 15 degrees which is amazing given that since I've been here it hasn't been above 6). Meredith said that it does that sometimes, because hot winds blow up from Africa.
Then this afternoon I finished booking my flights to Rome and also booked two hostels - one for 5 days and one for 2. A whole week in Rome to do whatever I want! I am dying to get going. We're going skiing tomorrow at a big ski field about a 40 minute drive away, and Meredith has given me her ski onesie which is black and magenta and orange and has shoulder pads (it's vintage) to wear so I will look ultra trendy as I wipe out.
