Yeeeeeah Buddy.. New Jersey for a night was the only way to put an end to the craziest road trip of all time! ...
We spent the day on the day of Atlantic City "the city that's always turned on"... What a trashy place.. Barry Island but ten times worse.. Gotta love it! We had our first cocktail at midday in The House of Blues and walked along the beach before a spot of window shopping. Jersey Shore tack everywhere.. It was crazy business!
That evening, I had a much needed nap before waking up to a skype call from Jay Bomb with him in bed and me in bed in my underwear.. Slightly awkward.. But entertaining all the same. Pre drinks arrived.. And we were about to end this road trip in styleeeeee!!
We headed to Bogata, where the party was and bought our first drink which came in at $10 per drink that was the size of a shot glass... Luckily we were pulled into VIP so had full access to free vodka. Bonuses of being a girl hey?! The night got VERY very messy... And we both danced our faces off like absolute tools and I made a new friend who looks like the guy out of the blind side.. We headed home with a blurry memory of the night!
Road trip ended successfully!
Next Stop: Maine!
We headed on an extremely long drive to Maine, crossing through Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire and Masse- something (don't know how to spell it). Big mistake when we took the wrong turning off the Washington bridge and ended up in Harlem.. Eeeek!
Got to our first stop of Josie's family.. Ann's house! My my, it felt good to be at a house again. We arrived to a home cooked meal and a vodka and diet coke.. Perfection. Added on that was that she had a little westie puppy... Yay!! Dolly was now my puppy for three days!
Early night for our first night and late morning after a long long lie in! Woke to raisin and cinnamon bagels.. We were being fed well, which has now become a theme for the last two weeks.. I am becoming a real fatty. Not a happy bunny!
About an hour after breakfast, we went out for lunch. I literally could not move and felt so sick. We went to meet Ann's sister, daughter and son for lunch before chilling out for the rest of the day. Maine is such a gorgeous place, the trees are just changing over and the house is on a lake.. Talk about a chill out week! It has been very much needed!
Day two in Maine consisted of getting our hair cut and dress shopping. Both went quite unsuccessfully. Josie hated her cut and I wasn't overly impressed with mine.. However, I reckon we can pull it off .. Then dress shopping.. DISASTER. Americans have no taste in dresses. Bad times!
That evening we watched x-factor.. Simon Cowell, Pharrell, Steve Jones and Enrique Iglesias on my screen in one night.. Big smile on my face, for sure!
Thursday we had to take our car back to the airport before visiting a cool little village called Perkins Cove .. Cute and seaside resort apart from a restaurant called Jackie O's, who the owner killed her husband and never went to prison so still runs is.. Creepy yes?!
We had a lovely conversation with my beaut Soph Irv and was proud to hear that shed completed her half
marathon.. So proud :)
In the evening, we ventured out to The York Harbour pub for a beverage. Whilst there, these 3 obnoxious business men decided to have a conversation with the whole pub so that me and josie could hear there conversation. Very irritating. They were also doing extremely bad accents of British people.. "oh bloody hell".. I mean we don't even say that!
Friday day came and we had lent Brenda's car so we were free to roam ourselves. We had decided on our Halloween costumes and needed to track them down. Mine being little red riding hood, all made from scratch and josie's being the black swan.
Friday night was a little different to our usual Friday nights.. First we had a little skype date with my lovely stalker, Jac Evans..Then We headed to Brenda's for a meal, jeopardy and the strongest vodka I have ever tasted! She knows how to get someone drunk! She lives right out in the sticks in the middle of the forest.. Beautiful house.. Would scare the crap out of me if I had to stay though, especially there being a rag doll on a rocking chair in the spare bedroom.. Not good for a wimp like me!
We had a quick face time session with Goonie, Len, Carly & Soph before they all headed out to see Alan Carr for Goonie's birthday. Nights like that makes me miss my girls so much.. Would do anything for a girls night out.. Wish I could magic over just for one night.. Wishful thinking hey?'
Last day in Maine, we hit Walmart, very thrilling to get our last bits of our costumes before making my outfit from head to toe. Had a lovely lovely conversation with my mommy and daddy and sister, as well as a hilarious catch up with Suz & Dan before having a casual vodka before watching Enchanted and making about a zillion cup cakes.. You know at home the cup cake packs make about 12 cupcakes?! Over here.. One pack makes 32 cupcakes and that's not an exaggeration! Crazy crazy crazy!
Sunday morning came and it was time to say goodbye to Ann.. Who I have now been adopted by. She was such a lovely host and miss being by a house on a lake!
New Hampshire awaits...
