Eleana's African Travels
Well, I've been back almost two months now! Time really has flown by, and thanks to mom, we have been able to slowly get some of the 1500 beautiful photographs uploaded for you to see just how amazing South Africa really is.
Please read this note from Japie sent by email on 08/31/06:
"Tomorrow (Friday) we are going to visit the AIDS orphans. The theme for the day is: HOPE, we will be playing in small groups creating art expressing thoughts of HOPE and start colouring in some of their dreams. We will also be handing out the stuffed animals as a symbol of comfort and ownership. They are all doing fine. Please help pray for a small pick-up truck for Frank to collect and deliver all the food weekly donated by the local community. His car is irreparable and we are organizing transport here and there."
He also wrote on 09/04/06:
Our outreach to the Orphans was blessed. They called it "A day we will never forget" - 1 September 2006. Our theme for the day was "season of HOPE". We divided them in 3 age groups and had fun with creative activities. Attached is some of the pictures." These photos have just been added to my travel journal website for you to enjoy.
Please take some pride and pleasure in knowing that these are the stuffed animals many of you donated!!! What joy the children have found in a simple pleasure! And, we still have more that can be sent! Pray for more funds to send more to the children. Such a simple pleasure!.
Japie & Tertia will be attending a conference in Phoenix the end of the month. We hope to get some of the boxes shipped to them there so they can claim them as luggage to take back on their plane to ZA. God is so good! He will provide a way to get more to the children!
God bless and let us know if you want to help! Stay tuned for more updates and photos!
