Eleana's African Travels
Here I am! Back in the USA!
The return trip home took approximately two days plus! After awakening about 7:00am on Sunday, July 16th, enjoying the day with Tertia Putter, director of Wellness Africa, and her family, we were joined later in the day by Japie Lubbe, the other director, and his family for a farewell cookout. The goodbyes were shared by all and complete with Girl Scout cookies that arrived after 5 weeks by the postal service in Hazeyview to Japie.
On to Johannesburg Airport about 7:30pm for check-in. After repacking my bag two times at the airport, our flight departed on British Airways #0054 about 9:30pm. Arrival Monday, July 17th, in London about 7:30am (11 hrs.) 3 1/2 hour layover in London. Depart BA #0217 at 10:55am, arrival in Washington Dulles International at 1:55pm (8 hours). Clear customs with baggage. 8 hr. layover in Washington, on standby for two earlier flights, but no such luck! Depart UA 7747 at 9:55pm for RDU. Arrival at 10:57pm (1 hr.)!
What a greeting at RDU!!! There was my loving family and boyfriend, Brian, and best friend, Aubrey Whitfield, bearing gifts, flowers, signs, and banners along with lots of hugs and kisses! I am so blessed! GOD IS SO GOOD!
I will maintain this website until I get all of my photos uploaded to share with you. Remember to keep the Ziva Bantwana AIDS orphanage in your prayers. Pray we will continue to find the means to ship the needed supplies to Frank and all of my new friends at the orphanage in South Africa. May God bless each and everyone of you for the love, prayers, and financial support you have provided. I love you all, Eleana
