Today we set off early in the morning to head up to the Daintree River and also Port Douglas. So we hired a car for the day and off we went.
The Daintree River runs through the Daintree Rainforest in the Cape Tribulation region.
It took about two hours to get there and then we set off on the Daintree River wildlife cruise. This cruise took over an hour to complete and our guide pointed out crocodiles as we went, from fully grown ones to little baby ones. I have never seen a crocodile in the wild before and it was lovely to see. I must admit I preferred the baby ones.......The guide was also very good at talking about the local region and a bit about the history of the crocodiles.cThey all have names and some have been in the area for a long time.
Today's weather was lovely and sunny and it was really hot out. So it was nice to get back into the air conditioned car to head to port Douglas.
Myself and Allena both loved Port Douglas. There are lots of lovely shops to look round, and we found a nice bar to sit and have a drink and look over the water. We were lucky enough to be there as the sun was coming down and it was a lovely view.
It was a quick day and the driving took up a lot of the time, but all in all I enjoyed my trip up to the Daintree River and port Douglas. I would definitely like to go back to Port a Douglas again before leaving Far North Queensland.
