We have just spent the last mine nights in Brisbane. The third largest city in Australia, though compared to Sydney appeared very small. had a lovely few days here. We spent a lot of time in the West End area, which had lots of lovely shops, restaurants and smaller pubs. We also took a boat down the river and saw a lot more of the city in doing this. We spent time in the botanical gardens, though in comparison to Sydney's this was a lot smaller and not so beautiful. It was still lovely to see. We saw a small lizard thing, which I have never really seen in the wild. Also a turtle swam right up to where I was standing, obviously thinking I had food. There did appear to be a heat wave on whilst we were there, and between the heat and the humidity, we maybe didn't do as much as we wanted. It was however nice to just chill as we did a heck of a lot of walking whilst there..........our last night there we managed to see the most spectacular thunder and lightening storm from the roof terrace of the YHA. Pretty amazing to see :-) Anyway, off to Noosa next and 2 day tour to Fraser Island, I cant wait...just hope it gets a bit cooler.......
