So today we all got up about 7/8am, chilled for a bit, then walked off down the water front to a little place on the beach for breakfast. Having eaten and come back it was just before 11am, so Joey and I decided to go for the surf. We had all planned on going on a snorkelling trip at 2pm, so we had a couple of hours to surf.
Unfortunately the surf wasn't as good good as yesterday. It was smaller, and there was quite a strong cross shore wind, but we still had a good time all the same. There were also more people out, but I probably actually caught more than the day before.
We came back by 1:30pm and had lunch straight away, but then the afternoon plans changed a lot. The spearfishing trip Matt was going on was a pretty serious freediving affair, so it wasn't really appropriate for the rest of us to go faffing around snorkelling.
Instead the 3 of us spent the afternoon chilling out in the sun and swimming in the ocean, until Matt came back about 5pm. He had experienced a pretty eventful trip, and although hasn't shot anything himself a couple of the others had, including a 11kg monster.
The guy who shot it was a bit of a 'local hero' as when he comes back he usually donates the fish to the locals. The owner of the place we are staying had got hold of a fair chunk of it, and laid on a feast for us for dinner.
We ate about 8pm with a yet another firework display going off all round the bay. The 4 enough had enough fish to eat for twice as many people, plus vegetables, rice and Arak to drink.
By the time we went to bed about 11pm we were all absolutely stuffed!
