Walked along the river to Riverfront Park, an area where they have taken old home foundations and made them into sunken gardens. The historic homes are well maintained and the brick work is really amazing especially when you consider that most of the work was done by hand. Went to the horse sale for day 3. Steve bid on a few horses but most went way higher than he was willing to go- he showed great restraint and kept his hand down! Ken and Caroline took everyone out to supper at The Firehouse Restaurant, which was home to Hope Station, the oldest standing firehouse in Harrisburg and the second oldest in Pennsylvania. The building was built in 1871 and was an active firehouse until 1980. We had a wondeful evening with good friends and shared lots of laughs. Ken gave Joyce some echinacea to try for her cold- she is slowly feeling better.
