ITALY - DAY 5
Today we moved to join the Splendours of Italy tour. Before we could join the tour we needed to wash our clothes, so we headed into the city centre to the only launderette we could find only to find that we couldn't wash our clothes ourselves but could leave them and collect them four hours later. We weren't sure about this but after a brief discussion, Grandad decided to stay with the clothes and the rest of us would continue to the new hotel drop off the bags and then come back for Grandad. Can you imagine it, Pasqual and I with two suitcases each, Ellexis with one and Angelique with a large backpack on wheels. Going up and down staircases was interesting to say the least. On one escalator, I almost fell down the stairs when one of the suitcases refused to do what I wanted it to do. In the end we made it safe and sound to our starting point.
We booked in and immediately turned around and headed back to get Grandad. Pasqual and I parted ways and Angelique and I continued by train to an appointment I had made the previous day, while Pasqual and Ellexis collected Grandad.
Amazingly, we meet back up at the bus station. When the bus finally came, we all squeezed on board when suddenly Pasqual shouted out, "Put that back!" The crowd parted to reveal two girls and a purse lying opened on the ground at their feet. They pretended they didn't know what was going on but everyone started abusing them and they quickly got off the next stop. The couple were very grateful and it turned out they were part of our tour group.
Pasqual and the girls decided to jump into the huge swimming pool while Grandad and I attended the meet and greet meeting about the tour. We had only just started when they came in. The water was freezing so a swim wasn't going to happen.
