Tunnel Creek was our next stop. It was a good stop as to be nhonest I was a bit gorged out . Today's hike was through a 750metre underground tunnel therefore we had our torchesd on the ready. Within the tunnel were many bats and it was so dark and also very wet as we had to walk through many pools!
We then travelled onto the regional township of Derby and visited the infamouns Boab Prison Tree, once used as a temporary prison for the local Aborigines.
We then travelled onto Broome and had a tour of the town and Chinatown for which there was actually no chinese restaurants as the chinese had now gone.
The other connections bus touring from Perth to Broome joined us for our 2 night stay in Broome.
After spending a couple of hours stocking up on supplies in Broome. We headed out in Broome that evening for a meal as 4 members of the group were leaving us tomorrow as the rest of us were to be travelling to Perth.
It was the first time I had seen a mirror in the lasdt week so was a bit shocked to see that I had caught the sun a bit and had a few mossie bites on my face which was quite good as half the group seemed to have been bitten to death.
It was time to get the makeup and straightners out of the bottom of my backpack and dress up for one night and one night only!
Before going for our meal we headed firslty to look at the Japanese cemetary before going onto Cable Beach to watch a lovely sunset on the Indian Ocean. It was great to get a glimpse of the Indian Ocean for the first time and we got quite merry on the rocks !!!
We had a really nice meal in a restaurant with lots of drinks and then headed to a local karoke bar. I mean local as it was full of Aborignines which was a bit of an experience . Rach and I sang karoke to Love Shack and we had quite an audience as well as a few Aborigine backing dancers. The other connections tour cre joined us here and after getting chucked out at 12 we headed to the beach for a few more bev's and a sing song to Chappy's guitar. Oh my god had not been drunk in quite a while and we eventually stumbled to our tents at around 3am. Little did we know that where we were on the beach was a reptile breeding ground hence the reason Chappy saw a snake last night. Lucky escape!!
