Riveting stuff so far guys, it gets even better.
Boliva was a place of altitude sickness, terrible bus journeys and freezing cold conditions. We got to la paz after a 12 hour bus journey. The hostel was awesome, massive place and in true Loki fashion we ended up getting hammered on the first night, Pisco is the way forward my friends. The second day was spent nursing hangovers and checking out the Plazas. On the third day we entered a quiz at the hostel. I was hungover again and my heart was pounding from the altitude so I wasnt really up for it, anywas we ended up winning the quiz due to my strainge knowledge of 88 keys on a piano, and harrys knowledge of random old music. A bottle of rum was our prize so another squiffy night.
The next day we embarked on our bikes down the most dangerous road in the world from 4700m, the air is thinner than steve up here! Ha! The views from the mountains were incredible and the cliff drops were crazy up to 500m drop! This was class though what a day.
The rest of La Paz was spent going out some more and chilling in town. By the way while we were there Bolivia celebrated 200 years of independance if youre interested. We saw some parades which were class and some drummers were marching at 6am one morning, thats committment but antisocial if you ask me.
Onto Uyuni on the worst road in the world, this was a bus journey from hell. The roads were shocking and the windows froze cos of the cold. Uyuni was freezing, this was were we set off for a 3 day trip tp the biggest salt flats in the world. To be fair it was pretty amazing and the desert with massive flamingo lagoons and mountains were pretty sweet. We stayed in thes tiny salt hostels with no heating just a gas oven for food and solar power, this takes all day to charge for 3 hours electricty in the evening. Also our LandCruiser had 2 flat tyres in the desert, we felt like on the set for lawrence of arabia for the first flat. Good ocurrnaces my friends I wont lie.
Onto Chile now holla!
