Began the day by visiting St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral: rather a concrete block, but the Wall Street Crash put paid to Gothic splendour. Unscathed by the vampires at Forks we resumed our drive along US 101, which was often bordered by golden broom. We admired beautiful Lake Crescent and continued to Port Angeles where the sun was shining and the sea was a glorious pale turquoise. After exploring the 'old town' in Florence yesterday we drove a few miles northwards to visit the Sea Lion Cave. You descend 208 feet in a lift from the cliff top to emerge in a short tunnel to a sort of galleria overlooking the world's largest ocean cave, which is a rookery (remember that for the next quiz!) for hundred's of Steller's sea lions.
