A further amazing 3 days under blue, cloudless skies! On Sunday we went to St. Mark's, Hood River, and received another very warm welcome and met someone originally from York! Our onwards journey gave us some stunning views of Mount Hood. We travelled through Sherwood Forest and passed Nottingham and Little John Campsites! After a desert oasis picnic at Warm Springs in a hot dusty wind, we drove through many, many miles of conifer forest, making a gradual ascent....

Landed safely at SFO yesterday after ten and a half hour flight. No sea mist over the Golden Gate this time. Cloudless blue skies! A bit weary by the time we reached Sonoma, but cheered by lovely hotel and good food on the patio of a friendly trattoria. Today visited fabulous Betzinger's Winery, then on to Botega Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Many hawks circling above, a multitude of colourful wildflowers, and at Jenner a huge colony of grey harbour seals. Now at q...
