Well we made it to Roma....
We set off exploring early in the morning after a rather large breakfast that had prepared by our host Angela. First stop was the Vaticano - boys were not happy with the fact they had to wear long trousers & closed in shoes, no singlets or trousers above the knees (apparently it is very sinful to show flesh!). All this aside it was well worth it - i got a little teary when we stepped inside the Basilica - it was a truly beautiful sight.
We then made our way down towards Castle D'Angelo and Piazza Navona which was yet another thing under construction.... We then walked to the Parthenon followed by the Trevi fountain. After all this excitement we made our way to Angela's husbands restaurant - we had a beautiful pasta and salad (plus a beer of course).
After lunch we made our way to the Coloseum, making our way through the ruins - it was awe inspiring.
After a rather long day of exploring we decided to head back to our hosts - the previous night i had asked if we could use her BBQ. Chris and I were looking forward to it. We arrived to the house to find Angela in the kitchen with a friend preparing a feast!
We had an enjoyable evening with Angela, Emilio and their friends - eating and drinking far too much! It was off to bed early as we had an early start to get to Brindisi port for Greece!
