After having another lovely breakfast (prepared by Mama!) when set off for Firenze!
Our first stop was the Ufizzi Museum, it was stunning. The fresco's on the ceiling's had me transixed - this wasn't even in the main galleries. We saw Boticelli's "Venus de Milo" so much more impresive than the Mona Lisa i must say! Also works by Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael (unfortnately didn't get to see the 4th Ninja Turtle - must have been feeling unwell) & Barocci to name a few!
After this we stopped off for a quick drink - beer was had sitting on balls!
Chris and I then headed off to the Accademia musem, went through the rigmoral of security etc then saw you couldn't take photos (of marble statues) so decided to give it a miss - quite funny cos as we walked out we saw Michelangelo's "David" anyway!
We then walked back to the Ufizzi and made our way to the Ponte opposite the Ponte Vecchio (in order to take some photos - hope they came out well). We then strolled along the river bank and made our way over the Ponte Vecchio - very cute!
We took a few photos of the locks on the side of the bridge which symbolises "one's love for another" legend has it they throw away the key so the lock can never be removed.
Next stop was San Lorenzo Square - this is where the markets were held. We had a look at some of the leather that was on offer however decided it was too expensive - 25 Euro for a coin purse!
We then made our way to the train station and ventured back home where Mr D made a lovely dinner and I gave him a Number 2 haircut! Wasn't under the influence this time though girls!
