Hi everyone!
As allways, my rollerblades go where i go - including Japan, so i've spent some time trying to locate some good skating here in Osaka - but in a crowded town like this, land is one the most valuable possesions, and every inch is used efficiently - which means no room for any skateparks! :-( But just half an hour by train brings you to Kobe, and the GoodSkates Skatepark - never seen anything like it it enormous! A huge street course and an even bigger halfpipe/vert section! Tjeck it out at: http://www.goodskates.com/gtv.htm
This is by the way the home of the Yasutoko bros. - the two top names of the vert-skating show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eTtWhHgK68
Following a great day of skating, we went to an onsen - a hot spring - for some great relaxation. In Japan there are hotsprings all over, and everywhere there is one, they have built a great bathing house around it. Even in the middle of Osaka, they have managed to find a hot spring, 800 m beneath the surface of the earth, and bing the water straight up to eighth-floor, where they have built a wonderfull bath on top of a building! Here they have hot tubs (41 degrees!), jacuzzies, saunas and warm rocks for lying on, where hot water has been flowing over all day! A perfect way to end a great day of hard skating!
By the way - did I mention that the onsen has open til 1am! Japan is a fantastic place!
