Well Hello there,
I have arrived!! Safe and can i just appologise for my delayed post as we have had no internet during the weekend however as i am strapped for time now i have to some how sum this amazingly beautiful, colourful and extreamly different contry up! Well the roads lets start there there is just no systems no signs if you wanna go go if not don't give way to bigger things and honk your horn alot!! its all very quriky i love it there is so much hussle and bussle in kathmandu and everyone is on the go however suprisingly it does not feel like a fast pase of life like in London for example!!
I arrived after a long journey and we found ngima who was waiting for us at the airport, then took us through the busy streets of kathmandu to his beautiful home! i then made myself at home! It was very welcoming!
The next day we were met by ngima's brother Lakbar (spelt wrong sorry if you can see this!) and he took us around kathmandu showing us all the amazing temples and monestrys some buddest and one hindu which i have got to say was not the best experience of my life! it felt very different to the hindu site not as welcoming and we got told by scary poilce men not to go in certain places! then i realised i had been eating dead people!! let me explain they were burning the dead hindu bodys and throwing the ashes into the river and i had been breathing in the ashes like everyone else not realising that the smoke was from buring dead bodys!! i could taste it all day! but what an interesting place to visit.
We also then planned our trek and we decided because it was monsoon Everest base camp was not the best place to go that trek really does not open untill october, however we have settled for a annapurna trek of 10 days we leave tomorrow at 6:30 in the morning EEEK for a 6 hour bus ride to Pokrha then we stay there for the night to then have a 1.5 hour car ride to the start of our trek. We then walk for 10 days up to just over 4000m to the base camp and then back down. we then spend 2 days in pokrha then we get a bus to chitwan national park to do a 3 day 2 night elepant trek we get to wash the elepants and everything!! then we come back to kathmandu and kieran will leave me and go back to uk and i will be left alone in this amazing contry!!
highlight - the people so friendly always wanting to chat and ask you questions!
Lowlight - hindu site really not my kind of thing however you live and learn.
Well i hope that has made up for my lack of interaction and hope the UK is holding up without me!!
Love to you alll
