Hello all,
Since our exhausting and painful night sleeping in a tent, we've been living in luxury! My God, I now know what its like being P Diddy...well sort of :-)! On Wednesday, Roomy took the wheel properly for the first time. And to be fair to the lad, for someone who hasn't driven for nearly six years he did a good job. Apart from nearly reversing into a few lamp posts lol. We must have driven for seven hours so it was very tiring day again. As I've said before, I met two people from Adelaide (Scott and Belinda) during my time at the Golf Club so I called Scott up and after a few directions we met up with them in Glenelg (which is a Suburb in Adelaide). Scott jumped in Abi and then directed me to their house. I don't think anyone of us then expected what happened next! We walked around the corner to see an absolute palace, it was gorgeous. I think I'm in love :-). The picture above is the view from the house (its a bit like living in paradise barr those Great White Sharks ready to take a chunk out of me!) As we walked in Scott and Belinda didn't just show us to our room, he showed us to our floor. Any good...its honestly like a pent house. We've got our own room (with a very comfy double bed), our own en suite, our own kitchen and the 3rd room is also a Games room with a snooker table. We were in heaven! To make things even better (if thats possible) we even had our own jacuzzi just a matter of yards from the kitchen. To be fair...its put it all in perspective. One night we're freezing our butts off in a tent, the next night we're living the dream. Awesome. So after a catch up with Scott and Belinda we tested out the Snooker table and caught up on some much needed sleep.
The next morning, instead of usually being woken by some snoorer in a room of ten smelly people we jumped in that jacuzzi! How goods that!? We then got the tram into the city and had a little look round. The Adelaide Oval is only a short walk from the city so we ventured towards the Cricket Ground to try and pick up some Ashes Tickets from a tout. When we got there however and turned the corner the England coach had just pulled up...hows that for a bit of timing! So we had a little chat with Freddie and the boys (while catching up with Cooky) and wished them all the best for the test tomorrow. I'm sure Paul Collingwood smiled at me and said something about scoring a double century, but who knows :-). We had a little walk round the Adelaide Oval after that before some fella from Capital FM came over and asked us for an interview. So I got my voice sorted and started bigging up the boys for the Test...and I did say that KP would definately get a ton and that Warne will never be able to get the big man out. After the big interview we headed back to the palace where we enjoyed a BBQ with Scott and Belinda. Awesome food and an awesome view watching the sunset on the ocean.
Friday...it was the first day of the test so we headed towards the Ground and watched most of the days cricket on a massive screen in a park just outside. The sun was shining and after a slightly nervy start the boys came good (well Bell, Colly and KP) and so the barmy army were in full voice once again. To celebrate the days proceedings we cooked up (well Milsy did...he calls it a Militano Special) some dinner and got in the mood for a night out with the help of a very cheap bottle of vodka. It was horrid...but it does the job. Scott and Belindas house is so well positioned we are a matter of yards from the nightlife in Glenelg as well! Perfect. So we stopped off at the three main places to be and met some locals :-). I was approached by a certain someone who asked me if I danced professionally, and after a drunken no she asked if I could teach her some moves lol. Those aussies do struggle on the dancefloor.
Today we've again just been watching the cricket, and getting over the hangover. Very chilled out day. I think we're gonna have a pool tournament tonight and there will be money involved so dirty tactics could be employed. And tomorrow we're going to some Girls 24th Birthday bash, its someone who Scott knows (and he informs me shes a bit of a looker) Well done, will applaud if she deserves it. So bye from Adelaide and a good luck to the mighty Spurs against the Gooners in a few hours, go on boys!
