On the evening of the 9th, Me, Roomy and Milsy ended up pur...chasing a cheap bottle of vodka before we went out! Its always a cheap option (saves us all money in the long run). I was all over the show (and that was before we had even left the Hostel). We then tried to get into a few bars, but came across a bit of a problem...ID was needed. I was blamed for apparantely having a baby face! Hmmm, I take it as a compliment! We managed to find one bar (after more walking) and to make it better it was a Karoke Bar! Our eyes lit up! I do possess a certain talent when it comes to singing lol. We got talking to two Americanos and before long it was time to address the crowd with an Oasis number (Roll with it). The crowd went wild! After signing a few autographs and a few more drinks, it was time for me to leave the boys and do a cheeky duet! And yes it was the classic Summer Nights :-) (See pictures). We had to ask one of the big bouncers to assist us out of the Bar because the demand for the three boys from England was getting out of control!
On the 10th, we all were nursing a bit of a hangover, so it was a lazy day just walking (slowly) around Sydney. But we had an appointment with the Bank to open an account each. Basically just means we won't keep getting charged for taking money out from accounts back home. We then spent the rest of day/night relaxing at the Hostel, watching a bit of prime time TV (which is pretty cool now because we've met loads of people).
Yesterday was awesome. Roomy knows someone (a family friend) who lives in Sydney called Tony Mott. Hes a famous photographer. Anyone you could think of hes met or worked with. Anywho, Roomy called him up and because he lives within ten minutes of our hostel we went round to say hello and meet him. His place is amazing...pictures everywhere. His house does have one drawback...theres a few huntsman (spiders) lurking around. But apparantely their harmless. He took us for a tour of Sydney, we went places we would have never gone without Tony. We went past Sydney's Football and Cricket Stadiums, Centenial Park, different views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. We stopped off a few times for a few beers too (it was pretty surreal looking out over the harbour while enjoying a Becks). Tony had been working with U2 the night before (and was meeting up with them again tonight). I asked him if he wanted to join us instead!? Sadly he had to stick to his work commitments. But after more digging around the whole U2 issue, he said if we give him a call tomorrow theres a very good chance he can get us tickets for Mondays concert (and backstage passes!) Any good! I can see it now...Me, Roomy and Milsy throwing some shapes on the dancefloor with Bono at the after-show party! If it happens Il tell you all Sean (who is probably the biggest U2 fan ever to come out of Fenstanton). After a few more beers (these Aussies can drink) Tony dropped us off at the Hostel but not before a huge fire just outside where we were drinking. So Sydneys finest were in action outside the Pub (probably about twenty of them) trying to stop this fire while we were inside wondering why Tony didnt try it on with Mariah Carey or Kylie or Madonna!
Last night we sampled the nightlife (again!). We had to...it was a Saturday night. We went to a place called the Gaff (for all Backpackers). It was free drinks before 10pm so many free drinks plus what I had drunk earlier equalled a drunk Englishman. But I think I'm not going to drink for a while now...I've got to look after the pennies and its not too clever feeling rubbish most mornings. I think we're just going to relax and soak up those rays today. Plus the mighty Spurs are playing later, so need to get prepared for that. Hope everyones ok, Byeee
