We're on the other side of the world!! I definately don't want to be looking at a world map now! We arrived in Sydney yesterday evening around 10pm. That morning I opted to don the famous England shirt...I didn't know at the time I'd get a few dirty looks. Its not my fault we won the Rugby World Cup (which is their National Sport in the Winter) and the Ashes (which is their National Sport in the Summer). Go on the England! Anyways we arrived at our new hostel (called AAA Ambassador) but one problem...no one was there! Reception was closed and all guests had a special key to get in. Shocker! Weren't the best start to life in the land of Oz. But after a phone call to the owner, he turned up in a mini bus and relocated us to another hostel called Boomerang. No idea why he couldn't have just opened reception at the first hostel! After all the relevant details were taken, he informed us that one of us would be sleeping in another room. It was pot luck...he gave us three keys (2 had the number 9 on and one had 14 on). I was on my knees praying to the heavens!! Roomys obviously not a religious man because he drew the short straw. So that was a bit of a touch. It was quite late so we all went out for some quick healthy food and then headed back to the hostel because it was quite late and it had been a long day!
Today we have been to see all the famous sights of Sydney! We've been walking far too much again though. Roomys been here before so he had an idea of the city. He was our tour guide! We didnt pay him though. I did offer him a bit of my Subway (Lunch) but he declined. We saw the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the famous (apparantely) Doyles Fish and Chips, Darling Harbour (where we tucked into another Subway) and Oxford Street. Me and Milsy have booked up a hair appointment (needs a good trim) for Monday at a place called Toni and Guy (I hope thats ok with you Auntie Elizabeth!) And I think we've got trainees working on us (because it is very cheap). Anyways Ive got to go now because we're off out tonight with the hostel...some kinda bar crawl (I may have a few ojs). Il get some pictures from Singapore and Oz on tomorrow. Goodbye from Sydney for now
