We have spent the last 5 days in the Provence region of Southern France. One rainy day but otherwise clear sunny skies. Beautiful region famous for its small stone villages built into the hilltops with narrow windy streets that are impossible to drive along. Parking is also very tight - which is why most Europeans seem to ride scooters or drive very small cars. The region is also very famous for lavendar, olives, ceramics and art. It's been great wandering through the market and small art / craft stores. Also commonly see groups of artists drawing or painting in the streets as well as cyclists (with no helmets) riding along the roads. Staying in a small stone house in Saint Saturnin, one of the many small villages. Its a narrow 2 storey house with thick stone walls that sits right on the narrow street - we can sit in the kitchen and just about touch the cars through the window as they drive past. Rod has been doing very well with his basic mastery of French. The occasional shopkeeper speaks a little English but sign language has also been very useful! Will be catching the very fast TGV train to Paris from Avignon tomorrow! Please give my apologies for the team meeting and hi to everyone at home.
