This morning I got up early to watch the Buddhism morning alms, this is where the monks go around the community and collect their daily food from the people of their community. It was interesting to watch this.
After breakfast I went out into the mountains we trekked a short distance up a mountain until we got to a Khmu village. Here we had our lunch and rode a bicycle down the mountain back to Luang Prabang. Again it was only me and the tour guide in the group. It cost me only $20 to go on it.
Half way down the mountain my bike front wheel broke off the bicycle. I was not able to continue the journey. Instead I went back to Luang Prabang where we got another bike and the tour guide took me for a ride around the local community and showed me where he went to college to learn English and showed me where he lived in a small room with his four friends. It certainly looked like a cell room. An interesting learning strategies I learnt that he and his friends used was to display newspaper around the room and on them they have written the english translation on them.
We also continued the ride where he showed me where he and his classmate had a garden which they maintained to feed themselves.
We continues to visit a temple on a tall hill which had a beautiful view on top of the surrounding area. The temple was beautiful to look at and an interesting thing I noticed was they had pictures of stories of Buddha but I was not able to understand as it was written in Laos.
We then went back to Luang Prabang.
