There are chipmunks living in the yard at the rear of the house & here is a picture of one doing a meercat.
We have now seen a short video of the wedding & reception taken by the professional videographers & although I have not yet found a way of loading it to the video section on here (I'm sure Tony would do it in a few seconds), you will (should?) be able to view it by clicking on the link below:
The happy couple have now returned from honeymoon in Greece & will be driving to their house in Maryland tomorrow.
They & Kelly's parents & grandmother will be over here for dinner tonight so we will have to smarten up before then.
I had a day of "yard duty" yesterday - strimming & driving Dave's Jonn Deere yard tractor to cut all of his grass & generally tidy up.
On Thursday, I met up for lunch with my cousin Sally who happens to work on Chestnut Ridge Road, about 5 minutes from here. She lives over an hour away near Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey, so has a long drive to work each day. She took me in her flash new sports car, a Mitsubishi Eclipse. This is the third or fourth similar car she has had & she does about 150,000 miles in them before changing, This gives some indication of the distances people travel here on a regular basis. I will try & attach some photos later.
Last weekend we had a shock as Lesley & David had arranged a surprise party for us, with people we knew from the church we used to attend. I nearly blew it as I was on the phone to my cousin Suzanne, who lives even further out in New Jersey than her sister Sally. I was arranging to meet up with her & Dave was hovering nearby making sure I didn't arrange to meet her on Saturday. In the end we went out to her place, at Blairstown, near the Pennsylvania border, on Sunday & stayed over Sunday night, returning on Monday. Sally & her fiancee David came around to meet us & that was when we discovered that Sally worked near here.
Suzanne & her partner John have a small farm of about 12 acres. They have quite a menagerie of animals, including 6 dogs, three cats, three horses, two beef cows, three sheep & numerous laying hens plus a rooster. This meant Suzanne had to get up at 4.30 am to feed all of the animals before leaving for work at 6am. She has about an hour's drive to get to work at a hospital in Dover, NJ, where she is a radiographer (or is it a Radiologist?) Anyway, ahe deals with MRI & CAT scans as well as normal X-rays. She only has to get up this early on rotation, it just happened on the day we were there.
Doreen has been resting for the last two days trying to get her leg swelling down before we start our trip to California on Monday. She has two sets of pills prescribed by Dr. George Cox, who we remember from our time here.
All for now, time for lunch.
