GDay Possums

Thats me now in Sydney, I arrived early Sunday morning from Vietnam, flight wasn't too bad though was with a budget airline so didn't have any choice of films & food was crap but anyway, got in around 11am & my good friend Debs came to collect me. Met Debs 3 years ago whilst out here the last time & we went to my hostel. i wanted to start my trip in the City so I could have a few days partying & seeing the City then I was heading to Debs parents to stay whilst I could search for a flat.

Debs then took me to her parents as there was a big family celebration so hada few beers met all her family & some friends then at night went to some of her friends for a early Christmas dinner which was lovely. Then she took me back to my hostel.

Monday 18th

Went for a little walk around the City to try & get my UK phone unlocked but no luck & opened a bank account for my stay in OZ as I am intending to be here 8 months if all things go well! Then Met Debs for lunch & we went to Darling Harbour for a wlk which was awesome very beautiful & scenic & tried to find me a OZ phone but so many tariffs & phones to choose from so left it! We went for a drive to around then I went back to my hostel for a siesta. At night, met a girl from the Netherlands but she had only just arrived & was shattered so ended up talking to this really lovely woman from Finland so we just drank & danced till the bar closed.

Tuesday 19th

Had to get up early today as had booked a beach tour to Palm Beach with 99 other people. I was shattered as I didn't get to bed till 3am as walked Jenni home, we went to Alfs Surf Club to take photos but I didn't bother getting out of the bus as I was a tad hungover. Got to the beach & we played volleyball (my team got to the semi's) & done some surfing which was fab but difficult & got wiped out most of the time with 2 foot waves but definately fancy doing more of that. On the way home, we had a few beers (Tooheys) & back at the hostel we met for another beer then had to have a shower as was covered in sand. At night, drank some more at the bar!

Wednesday 20th

Had to check out of my hostel as going to stay with Debs parents in Wahronnga but I really over did the sun yesterday as I am soo burnt, almost everywhere (really soo stupid) & trying to have my back pack on was very painful. went to the train station & went to Debs station in Meadowbank & then took my stuff to Debs parents. We then watched a bit of British TV very funny as soaps must be 6-8 months old at least then went for a drive to a shopping centre where I have eventually got my new phone yeah. At night, just relaxed & was soo worried as we met some spiders, a baby Huntsman, there were 2 in my bathroom. I hate spiders & Australia has 8 out of the 10 deadliest spiders, though huntsman aren't but there massive, & seen a few on 'I'm a celebrity' which freaked me out! Not much sleep for me then!!!!

Thursday 20th

Debs came over & we went to some beaches mainly Manly though I am still very red & burnt so we went for a walk & went to the bar, then we drove to North Head which had a gorgeous view of Sydney City. In the evening met up with Lisa, another girl I met last time I was here & had a few drinks down the Harbour such views, then some food, had Malasyian food 'Laska' which is a kind of soup but was really nice but a little spicy, we had a few more drinks but had to head back early as I have no idea how to get back to my new home from the bus station but was a good day!
