Day or should we say half day of getting our bearings. Half day because the jet lag kicked in and we woke up at 13.15 after 14 hours sleep. Well we were a bit tired.
It was raining so we went off exploring in the direction of historic Macau. First stop Senado Square where we encountered a protest group of senior citizens. No idea what the protest was about but it involved plenty of chanting, flags, a megaphone and a nice sit down with their pals in the middle of the main shopping street.
Shopping appears to be the main daytime activity for the Chinese visitors. Plenty of high end designer stores but the real money was going on stacks of baby food formula.
We did a walk from the centre to the A-Ma temple passing many lovely squares. We kept walking though as our route would take us the the waterside. We envisaged sitting by the water with a nice drink watching boats bobbing up and down. In Europe waterfronts are nice strolling places. In Macau it was all industrial wharves and building sites. So wished we had stayed in the cute squares.
A few drinks then a bed picnic from the supermarket. David pleased to report large bottled beers were 75p unfortunately the bar prices for beer are more like £5.00.
