Landed at Hong Kong airport around 3pm to catch the 17:00 ferry to Macau.
So far on this trip we travelled by car, plane, bus, plane, train, train, ferry and the final section by bus or walking if it isn't raining. (It wasn't)
Weather not off to the best start as it was raining when we arrived and as we write this it is still raining on the ferry to Macau. Not complaining however as so far we have never left air con.
We have now been up for 27 hours and it's starting to show. The ferry from the airport is 1h 15min long and the rocking of the boat through the water is sending us to sleep. David is admiring the construction of new land in the waters between Hong Kong and Macau, at this rate you will be able to drive between the two places in the near future. So far an easy transfer.
Spoke to soon, after 45 mins on the ferry we have returned to the terminal we departed from to pick up something. I assume it was small as we weren't in the the berth a minute before departing again. The noise in the cabin however is tremendous as all our fellow asian passengers complained about being made late or at least we guess that what the noise was about. South East Asia never fails in confusing situations without any explanation.
Got into our hotel after a short walk from the the ferry terminal around 7:30pm local time. Out again for 8:30pm for our first taste of the excellent food on offer in this area. Eventually found a nice spot at the back of the Sands casino where we enjoyed their specials, Mac chicken for Yvonne and Big Mac for David. We learnt a long time ago not to bother with any decent food on the first night as no matter what you buy ultimately it will taste of cardboard.
Ended up in the Sands bar watching a rather good all scantily dressed female dance troop, even their best moves could not keep our eyes open left around 11pm shattered ;33 hours from awaking up to going to bed.
