We were all up pretty early this morning, and headed into town to go out for breakfast. We found a table at a nice café called Lustre Bar and Grill. Mixtures of different meals were eaten including Salmon omelettes, Bacon and eggs, hash browns and deluxe breakfasts. Everyone agreed it was a delicious breakfast. We all then spent the rest of the morning looking around the town centre. Melanie was quite happy as she found dive shop and bought herself a GIANT knife to protect herself when she goes scuba diving. After both Neil and Sharon got their hair cut and everyone had had enough of shopping, we made our way back to the camp site. Joanna, Melanie, Sharon and Ann had a very quick and cold swim. Ann decided to stay by the pool for the rest of the day while everyone else went to Malcolm Douglas's wildlife park. We began walking around the park, seeing all sort of animals including Birds, dingos, Owls, Alligators, Freshwater crocodiles, a sunbaking kangaroo and the terrifying saltwater crocodiles. At 3pm we made our way to the front of the park where we got the chance to hold a baby crocodile. The Crocs mouth was strapped but it was still very vicious, using its body to try move away from us. Sharon, Melanie, and Tanya held the little croc and got a photo. We then began a tour with one of the rangers from the park, who told us all about crocodiles and their behaviour. We were lucky enough to witness the crocodiles feeding on dead chickens, which was quite intimidating to see, as they are such ferocious animals. As we followed the ranger through the park, we passed a salt water crocodiles cage which had a sign attached to the front of it saying "Its Name’ and that it was caught by Aboriginals in Lombadina whilst spear fishing at night’. Neil, Melanie and Tanya were all a little freaked out by the sign and the giant croc in the cage, as they had been spear fishing at night with aboriginals only a week ago at that very spot. On the way back to the camp site Melanie and Neil decided to indulge their taste buds by eating Soft serve nut sundaes covered in chocolate fudge with honeycomb and flake pieces. The rest of the afternoon was pretty relaxing for all.
